NUFFIELD FOUNDATION - Offer month-long placements in the Summer holidays in a research environment for post-16 students who are passionate about STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering or maths). Placements might be in a university, research institute or company. You'll get great experience and it won't cost you a penny. All travel expenses paid, plus if you're a Bursary student you may be eligible for £80 a week bursary payment.

In2science - a charity that works with students from disadvantaged backgrounds to organise 2-week long work placements in science and research. If you're accepted on to the programme, you will also get access to information, mentoring and guidance on university applications and get a great insight into science careers.
