I am writing to invite up to ten of your Year 12 and Year 13 pupils to this year’s Professional Degree Courses Conference, which will take place on Saturday 8th October, 9.30am-12.30 at Magdalen College School, Oxford.

The event is targeted at pupils who are planning to study Engineering, Law, Computing or Architecture at university. The morning will run from 9.30-12.30. There will be a separate programme for each degree subject, and the morning will consist of mini-lectures by professionals in each area who will offer insight into their career path way, together with interactive workshops led by academic experts in their field. For Lower Sixth pupils, the academic sessions are designed to offer further insight into what study of their chosen subject might involve, and how best to prepare themselves for a university application; for Upper Sixth pupils, the focus of academics’ sessions will be on looking at problems and case studies of the sort pupils might meet at interview or as undergraduates.
