Your 6th formers are invited to meet councillors and officers, find out about council services and spend the afternoon taking over from city councillors by debating and voting on key issues in the Council Chamber.
The topics for the debate are:
· Social Housing
· The Oxford Living Wage
· Environment Policy and Action for Oxford
Takeover council agendas will be sent to you in early January so that your students can prepare for the debate in advance. Information about these issues can be found on our website, and staff and officers will be available in the morning of 28 February to talk about these issues and to answer questions before the debate.
The day will end with the opportunity to take a tour of the historic Victorian Town Hall.
Reserve places for your students on this free event as soon as possible – we are initially offering each school up to 10 places.
