UKAEA Culham Centre for Fusion Energy Apprenticeship

Culham Centre for Fusion Energy  is the UK's national laboratory for fusion research. In addition, CCFE hosts the world's largest magnetic fusion experiment JET (Joint European Torus), on behalf of its European partners.  

Every year CCFE select apprentice engineering technicians to undergo a four-year training programme based ta Culham and as a local college. This scheme is designed to develop technical and academic abilities and personal qualities. Completing the programme results in a certificate of Advanced Apprenticeship, a complementary academic qualification, registration as an EngTech by either Institution of Mechanical Engineers or the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a head start for a future career. Students can come along to UKAEA at Culham, with their parents to find out more about the Apprenticeships on offer and meet staff and apprentices who will be show casing their work. A tour of JET is also provided.
