Festival of Ancient and Modern Science final details

The Festival of Ancient and Modern Science takes place tomorrow!  Everyone is very warmly welcome to take part in the amazing range of activities which will be taking place in Brighouse and Lane from 2.50pm. 38 different organisations are running activity stalls on topics ranging from Neuroscience to Genetics to Black Holes. There will also be face-painting and shows in Lane from 2.50, with science-themed refreshments from 3.30pm.

Because we are welcoming hundreds of visitors, including many primary school children, from outside the school, please note the following instructions carefully:

1.       The Library, the ground floor of Brighouse and the ground floor of Lane will be closed for set up from the start of lunch.  Please access the upper floor of Brighouse via the staircase with the genetics timeline or across the bridge from the Russell building.  J37 will be open and staffed during lunch for students who regularly use the Library computers.  Room changes are posted below and will be on posters around the entrances to Lane and Brighouse.  Go quickly and quietly to your alternative rooms.
2.      At the end of tutor time, if you are booked in for the Robert Winston talk, please go to the Assembly Hall straightaway.  If you are going to visit the stalls, please go to Brighouse or Lane. If you are a volunteer you should go straight to the stall you are supporting.  Volunteer or not, please welcome and help out any visitors who need directions.
3.      There is some amount of space for the talks about Plants on Mars (3.45), Ancient Weaponry (4.30), Roman Medicine (5.15) and for Professor Grayling at 6pm, so please feel free to attend these talks in the Asssembly Hall during the Festival.
4.      If you are not attending the Festival, please leave the school site punctually by 2.55pm.  Tutors will be escorting you to the gates on the Gypsy Lane site, so that the school site is ready for the hundreds of visitors who will be coming in at 3pm.
