I am writing in good time to alert appropriate members of your sixth form to the next St Hilda’s College Oxford Medical Society Conference on Saturday 3rd March 2018. This conference will cover mental health topics and will require no medical knowledge but could be of interest to those looking towards a degree in medicine or related subjects. Attendance would be a good discussion topic during an interview and/or inclusion in a UCAS statement. Our medical tutors and current students are on hand over lunch to answer any questions about courses.
Several sixth formers attended our conference in September 2016, the first time we have opened it up in this way. Feedback suggested that their attendance was mutually beneficial.
The cost of £12 per head for students covers lunch and other refreshments. No-one would be denied a place if unable to cover this fee.
