Where: Oxford Brookes University , Joel Joffe Building, 900 Delta Office Park, Welton Road, Swindon, SN5 7XQ
Time: 9:30am - 2:30pm
Oxford Brookes University would like to invite your year 12 students who are interested in Adult Nursing and Operating Department Practice (ODP) to attend a taster day at our Swindon Campus.
The Adult Nursing and ODP day will enable students who are interested in these subject areas to get a real insight into what the course will involve. The day will be led by a selection of senior lecturers who teach at the Swindon Campus. The day will also allow the students a rare opportunity to visit and take part in a variety of activities in our brand new skills labs.
As well as attending talks about the courses, student finance and how to apply to University, the students will be able to choose 2 of 4 skills lab sessions to attend. These are:
- Operating Theatre Experience - Delve beyond the closed doors of the operating suite. Experience how Operating Department Practitioners work directly with anesthetists and surgeons.
- Care of Wounds - An opportunity to explore wound healing by caring for artificial wounds.
- Ageing Experience : A simulation experience - The students will be able to experience age-related impairments to help them understand the sensory changes older adults may experience.
- Emergency Care - This will help the students gain more knowledge in CPR and First Aid.
How to apply:
If you are interested in attending with your students please fill out this form and I will contact you shortly with more information. We have a limited amount of spaces, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
