Fine Art Exhibitions - Stereotypes Over Time

Fine Art Exhibition
Presents
 Stereotypes Over Time
April 12th – April 13th, 2016

Fine Arts students from Cheney School were entitled the task to prepare and create an exhibit with their chosen partner. Each pieces that will be made are related to their concept and pathway. We are proud to present a collaboration between Knep Maglonzo and Marion Oke in their first exhibit entitled Stereotypes over time which will run from April 12th – April 13th, 2016.

With the combination of concepts, the final idea for the pieces to be exhibited will be displayed as the stereotypes over the years from racial to gender, during the first several weeks both artist explored the illuminating nature of cultural change in fashion over time with the concept of stereotypes remaining the same. Both artists have decided to recognise racial stereotypes as a key theme in their exhibition to gain better understanding in the system of beliefs about certain characteristics in different ethnic groups or nationality, this includes the existence of cultural status and cultural norms. The pieces that will be displayed in the exhibition are prints (etching), paintings, ink and photography.
