is not for you?
Want a level 4 business qualification with possibly no tuition fees?
Want an internship
with local businesses?
The Management Academy (TMA) has been set up to identify and train young
managerial talent, to prepare them for work and on completion to provide real
jobs that offer quick career progression. TMA believes that management
potential is evident in the teenage years and is not necessarily associated
with academic results. Working collaboratively with schools, the academy will take
on students post A level for an intense one year business & management
course.
The training will be run regionally. It includes an introduction to all
aspects of business, interpersonal skills and management techniques. Students
will graduate with accredited business & management qualifications - HNC in
Business, level 4 and Chartered Management Institute (CMI), level 4.
Supported by local SMEs, TMA will mix class based learning with actual
business life. The course will include lectures from business owners and
managers along with practical work experience (for which students will be
paid). On successfully completing the course students will receive job offers
(facilitated by TMA) from the companies that are backing the academy.
These will be full time permanent jobs, with the prospect of rapid career
progression.
The academy charges tuition fees (£6,000), for which students can obtain
a loan. This loan will effectively be repaid by the SME once students commence
work. This makes the TMA unique in enabling students to begin their careers on
a debt free basis.
The academy is being launched in Oxford this September. To celebrate this
number inaugural scholarships are being offered, meaning that selected students
will not have to pay any tuition fees.
TMA now needs help from schools to help identify suitable candidates.
