Year 12 CONFERENCE - TOMORROW - TUESDAY 20TH FEBRUARY
All Year 12s are off timetable tomorrow for the Conference. Through the day there will be workshops on many topics you have fed back that you think would be of use to you: mental health, preparing yourself for the next phase of life, leadership and life skills, to name but a few. It's also a great opportunity to make yourself heard and get your views across about how we can make Cheney Sixth Form an even better place to be.
Please come to the Assembly Hall in the morning, for registration and refreshments from 8.30-9.00am. We will be starting promptly at 9.00am.
Students will be split into 12 groups (1/2 tutor groups) and they should sit in these groups on arrival. Each group will be joined by a couple of Year 11s - please make them feel welcome.
The day will start with a welcome talk by Miss Hackett and Mr White. Students will then attend four workshops, with breaktime and lunch as normal. We will finish the day, back in the Assembly Hall, with a plenary session to end up the day.
Year 13s - please let me know if you would like to come along.

Cambridge Ancient World Video Competition 2018
In recent years, Cheney entrants have won and also come runners-up in this annual competition to create a short video on any aspect of the Ancient World! It's a lot of fun to take part - here's the blurb:
This is your chance to be involved in bringing the Ancient World to life through film. We want you to produce creative and interesting films exploring a classical object or topic. This year we are offering prizes for videos in two categories: one of 30-45 seconds and one of up to 4 minutes in length.
This competition invites you to take part in this mission of communicating the Ancient World through film. We are looking for creative and interesting films which explore a classical object or topic in short films of either 30-45 seconds or up to 4 minutes.
There will be a prize fund of £500 for the best entries and the winning videos in each category will be put on our unique website – The Greeks, The Romans & Us – which features a range of videos of Cambridge’s well-known and up-and-coming Classicists.
