Classical Civilisation work this week
I'm very sorry that there won't be a Classical Civilisation lesson this Wednesday as I am involved in running the Primary School Debating Event that afternoon.
Please can you all do further reading on Greek Theatre of 5th Century BC, familiarising yourself with its origins and development, and taking careful notes on its defining features. There are plenty of very helpful books in the Classics Centre Library you can borrow to explore this topic, as well as a range of internet sources on Classical Greek drama.
I would like you to show me the notes you have taken at the start of next term when I see you again, so please make sure you have your notes to present to me in our first lesson back after Easter. There will also be a test on this topic!
If you have any questions about this, or would like to talk to me about useful literature to read, please feel welcome to come and find me before or after school, or at break or lunch times - you can email me with any questions too.
Thank you very much and very sorry not to be able to teach the lesson this week.

Buy and Sell Board
Greetings form the Student Rep team!
Recently we have been updating some of the noticeboards in the Sixth Form area - you may have already noticed the calendar that's on the noticeboard by the toilets.
We have been looking at using the noticeboard in L1 and the ones in C18 as 'Buy/ Sell / Student Event boards.' This means that if you have textbooks / clothes/ games consoles etc to sell, or if you need a tutor or want to promote a gig your band is playing then all you need to do is write all the relevant information on some paper and put it in the Buy/Sell box in Miss Stratford's office. The Sixth Form Representatives will be going through the messages fortnightly before putting them up on the boards.
We hope that you find the noticeboards helpful - if you have any suggestions do let us know!

Mural Creation for L1
Mural Creation for L1!!!
We are thinking about creating a mural for L1. It is a large painting which will be put between the already existing
clocks on the wall, (the black ones left over from the festival).
The idea is
to have lots of different small designs placed together in order to create
something eye catching that will make L1 look much more appealing.
If you would like to be involved then create a design that represents what Cheney means to you and
hand the piece in to Miss Stratford or Magnus Laerke Hall by the 24th of March
2016.
Thanks
The Student Representatives

No free computers? Why don't you borrow a Chromebook!
We aware that there are times when you can't use a computer because all of the ones in the Sixth Form area are in use and you can not use the library due to there being a reading lesson.
In order to combat this there is a lap safe in L2. The lapsafe houses 30 chromebooks that are all there for YOU to use for free. All you are required to do is sign a contract (along with your parents) to say you will be responsible when using them and you may then borrow a chromebook at any time! The system is similar to that of the library and you will need your ID card to access them.
The contracts are available outside the Sixth Form office.
