What's a mentor?
Someone who can help advise and support another person, when they are going through life and/or work issues.

These prize essay competitions are intended to stretch and challenge the most ambitious students.  If you are interested in any of the titles you could perhaps pick one for your EPQ.

Haiku Competition

Cheney's Japanese teacher, Nao-sensei, is going to send in entries for 15th World Haiku Contest on the theme of 'Living Things'.  She is also going to hold Cheney's very own haiku competition, with Japanese-style prizes.  

If you want to take part in either contest, please submit your haiku to me on paper or by e-mail by the end of this term.  The World Haiku Contest is for under-16s, but students of any age can enter the Cheney contest.  Please see http://www.jal-foundation.or.jp/contest-e.html for details of the World Competition - the Cheney contest will follow the same rules.
