Festival Decorations

When you return on 4th January, you will see that decorations have started to appear in L1 and the Lane Foyer (and elsewhere) in preparation for the Festival of Lost Cities on 18th January. I've spent this holiday week starting to get these up partly so I can be sure to get everything ready in time for the event itself and partly to start to raise awareness and anticipation for the event itself!

These decorations are temporary and will come down once the festival is over; in the mean time, if you could keep an eye on them and look after them, I would be very grateful indeed. Thank you very much for letting us use your space to decorate for this event - I hope lots of you will come and enjoy it all on the day - details are at http://eoccc.org.uk/festival-of-lost-cities

Have a great Christmas and New Year meanwhile!

Festival of Lost Cities - 18th January

Firstly, this is a reminder that on 18th January we are holding a large community event - the Festival of Lost Cities. The ground floor of Lane Building will be transformed into different ancient cities between 3 and 5.45pm, during which time, there will be a wide range of stalls, activities, drama and gladiator performances, as well themed food and drink. Also, Year 5s and 6s from East Oxford Primary School will be running their own lost city in the Library!

Alongside all this, we have some really exciting speakers, including TV Historians Bettany Hughes and Michael Scott - details of all talks are at http://eoccc.org.uk/festival-of-lost-cities

We are looking especially for people who would like to face-paint visiting primary school children, help run stalls and help out as guides - please get in touch with me or Mr Gimson if you would like to help out! It will be a great opportunity to welcome visitors, have fun and there will be refreshments provided for all volunteers.

Thank you very much.

Christmas Market Success

Well done to all those who helped in the Christmas Market!! There were some amazing stalls and your enthusiasm and attitude was a credit to the school.

Remember you can continue to sell in Mr Russell's room lunch times next week. Keep up the good work.

Take the money you have raised to the school shop today and make sure you have the spreadsheet so that it goes in the correct account.

Well done again!!
Merry Christmas :)
